Police Records Technician

Are you looking to be part of a team that makes a difference in the community? The City of Oakdale, Minnesota may be a great spot for you – we are hiring for a full-time Records Technician. The successful candidate will possess exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills as well as being comfortable in a fast-paced and sometimes uncertain environment. This position requires the ability to calmly de-escalate situations and communicate effectively with individuals who may be confused or upset about an action taken by police personnel. No shift is the same, and our records technicians help meet our goal to partner with the community to prevent, reduce and deter crime while enhancing the quality of life for all. 

Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma (or equivalent), a valid driver’s license with Minnesota driving privileges and complete a full background check. Candidates must also be able to retain confidentiality and have one year of experience in a public safety records division. This position will also be required to become/maintain certification as a certified BCA/MNJIS operator. Advanced degree, additional experience, and familiarity with Laserfiche and Central Square records management systems are all desired qualifications.  A psychological and physical test is required upon conditional offer of hire. 

Compensation and Benefits: The 2023 hiring compensation range is $26.53 - $33.16/hour with a comprehensive total rewards package including paid time off, insurance, and retirement contributions.

Anticipated hiring schedule: Initial review of applications will begin April 7, 2023 with first interviews schedule for the week of April 17, 2023.
