Current and Planned Work
Area 1: 46th Street N, 47th Street N, 48th Street N and 49th Street N (From Hadley Avenue N to the East)
- The contractor will begin replacing the current steel light poles and fixtures with new concrete light poles starting mid next week.
- Exploratory excavation of a water main valve on 48th Street N will take place next week. 48th Street N will continue to be open for traffic.
- Please help water your sod so it grows! The contractor will also water for the first 30 days only. Any sod that is acceptable after 30 days will not be replaced. See the sod care sheet for more information.
Area 2: Hadley Avenue N (40th Street N to 50th Street N)
- The first lift of asphalt will be completed on Friday, July 19. The asphalt can be driven on once it is rolled (typically within 10 minutes of the asphalt being paved).
- The contractor will begin raising the manholes and valve boxes up to the proposed road grade starting on Monday, July 22. Please drive carefully as crews can be working in the middle of the road.
- Restoration and topsoil of all disturbed areas will start mid-next week. All residential yards disturbed will receive sod. City boulevards and non-residential areas will be seeded.
- Please help water your sod so it grows! The contractor will also water for the first 30 days only. Any sod that is acceptable after 30 days will not be replaced. See the sod care sheet for more information.
Area 3: Oakdale Nature Preserve Trail Reconstruction
- Work is tentatively planned to start later this month.
Area 4: North Fire Station Parking Lot Reconstruction
- The final layer of asphalt was paved earlier this week on the back side of the fire station. All traffic must use the back side of the station as work is now being performed on the front side.
- Concrete work will begin on the front side today (Thursday, July 18) and is scheduled to end early-next week.
Reminders
As construction progresses, please use caution traveling within the project area. Also, please do not park vehicles on the street from 7 AM to 7 PM within the project area unless instructed to by the contractor to accommodate driveway work. This will help the contractor to work more efficiently and will create a safer work zone. Thank you, as always, for your ongoing patience and cooperation.
