Pumpkin Carving ContestDrop off your pumpkin during the Discovery Center’s open hours October 20 through 23 | Discovery Center Calling all pumpkin carvers! The Pumpkin Carving Contest is open to families or individuals of all ages/skill levels. All entries must be family friendly. The pumpkins will be displayed at the Flashlight Pumpkin Hunt and attendees will vote for the winners. Prizes will be awarded to winners in each of three categories; Best, Spookiest, and Bumpkin Pumpkin (entry by ages 12 and under). MORE INFORMATION |

Flashlight Pumpkin HuntThursday, October 24 | 7 to 8:30 PM | Discovery Center
Search for pumpkins under the stars in the Oakdale Nature Preserve! After the hunt enjoy chilling refreshments, family DJ, bonfire, spooky entertainment and ghoulish games. Costumes are optional; don’t forget your flashlight! All participants receive a glow necklace upon check-in! Deadline to register is October 17, or when full. $12 per child, parents attend free. Library Story Time | FallWednesday, October 30 | 10:30 AM | Discovery Center
A Washington County Youth Librarian will be visiting for a special preschool story time! We’ll have fun talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing together. We will focus on concepts such as counting, colors, sharing, emotions, patterns, and the alphabet. A simple craft will follow. Adult YogaOakdale welcomes Jen Vail, registered yoga teacher, trainer and certified Pilates instructor, to the Discovery Center! Jen was most recently the director and founder of YogaFresh in Woodbury, MN from 2007-2023. Her unique offerings have different focus areas and are accessible for all experience levels. She strives to create a non-judgmental, fun and safe environment to explore the benefits of yoga, barre and Pilates. Learn more at http://www.jenvail.com/. $30 Feel better faster and take the next step in your wellness journey with foam rolling to alleviate tension, reduce pain, promote recovery and improve mobility. This all-levels workshop uses self-myofascial techniques and a foam roller to melt away stress and reduce muscle soreness in chronically tight areas of the body.
