Current and Planned Work

Area 1: Upper 5th Street N (Greenway Avenue N to Grovner Avenue N), 5th Street N, and 5th Street Court N)
- All residents on Upper 5th Street N west of Grovner Avenue N should be on temporary water as the water main work on Upper 5th Street N has begun.
- Residents on 5th Street N and 5th Street Court N will be placed on temporary water next week.
- The water main replacement on Upper 5th Street N, 5th Street N, and 5th Street Court N is expected to take around two weeks to complete.
- Water main stakes are now in place. Please do not move these stakes, as they are essential to laying the new water main at the proper location and elevation.
- The contractor is responsible for keeping access to driveways. However, there will be brief periods where equipment or digging is located directly in front of driveways. Please be patient as this work takes place.

Area 2: 6th Street N, 4th Street N, 3rd Street N, Grenadier Avenue N, and Gresham Avenue N
- Curb and gutter removal began this week along with the removal of driveway aprons. Some driveways have been cut back past the aprons for a variety of reasons. Most are to ensure proper drainage and a better transition from the street to the driveway once new aprons are poured. When a driveway apron is removed, the contractor will fill it with gravel to keep access open to homes. There will be a brief period where access is limited, as it takes a little time to remove the concrete apron and fill the void with gravel. Please be patient with the crews during this process.
- Curb stakes will were placed today (Thursday, June 12). Please do not move these as they provide critical information for placement of the curb.
- Addition of new curb and gutter with driveway aprons is tentatively planned for June 23. Further details regarding parking and where the contractor plans to start work
will be provided as the date nears.
- These streets will receive two layers of asphalt. The first layer is tentatively planned for June 30.

Area 3: 1st Street North and Greystone Avenue N
- Work is tentatively planned to begin the second week in July.

Area 4: Grovner Avenue N and Upper 5th Street N (Grovner Avenue N to Hadley Avenue N)
- Work is tentatively planned to begin the second week in July.

Reminders

As construction progresses, please use caution traveling within the project area. Also, please do not park vehicles on the street from 7 AM to 7 PM within the project area unless instructed to by the contractor to accommodate driveway work. This will help the contractor to work more efficiently and will create a safer work zone. Thank you, as always, for your ongoing patience and cooperation.
