Current and Planned Work
Area 1: Upper 5th Street N (Greenway Avenue N to Grovner Avenue N), 5th Street N, and 5th Street Court N)
- Please do not disturb the concrete stakes, as they are essential for curb location and elevation.
- Concrete curb and driveway aprons are planned for Wednesday, July 30 and Thursday, July 31. When the concrete is poured, residents will not be able to drive on it for five days. Notices will be handed out with further details. Concrete work and the schedule is still tentative as there has been a significant amount of rainfall in the last week.
- The first layer of asphalt is planned for the first week in August.
Area 2: 6th Street N, 4th Street N, 3rd Street N, Grenadier Avenue N, and Gresham Avenue N
- There is currently a leaking water main valve on 3rd Street N. This is planned to be replaced on Tuesday, July 29, and 3rd Street will have its water shut off during this event. Residents will be notified with further details regarding the planned water shutoff.
- The contractor will be raising all the valves and manholes to the proposed road grade late next week (weather pending).
Area 3: 1st Street North and Greystone Avenue N
- The removal and replacement of the water main has begun. Once the main line is replaced, the contractor will come back and replace all water services. Please note that there will be a brief period when access to driveways is restricted due to the water main replacement work. Please be patient with the contractor during this time, as they will be working as quickly as possible to regain access to driveways. The water main work will take about two weeks to complete.
- A new sand and gravel section is planned to be installed the first week of August.
Area 4: Grovner Avenue N and Upper 5th Street N (Grovner Avenue N to Hadley Avenue N)
- Concrete curb and driveway aprons on Grovner Avenue N are planned for Wednesday, July 30 and Thursday, July 31. When the concrete is poured, residents will not be able to drive on it for five days. Notices will be handed out with further details. Concrete work and the schedule is still tentative as there has been a significant amount of rainfall in the last week.
- The first layer of asphalt is planned for the first week in August.
Reminders
As construction progresses, please use caution traveling within the project area. Also, please do not park vehicles on the street from 7 AM to 7 PM within the project area unless instructed to by the contractor to accommodate driveway work. This will help the contractor to work more efficiently and will create a safer work zone. Thank you, as always, for your ongoing patience and cooperation.
