FAMILY FUN ACTIVITIES

Inflatables at Walton Park

Family Fun Flatables

Saturday, September 13 | 11 AM to 4 PM | Walton Park

Jump, bounce, dive and explore a sea of over a dozen inflatables including bounce castles, obstacle course and a giant slide. There will also be food available for purchase and a kids DJ. A sensory tent will provide a safe, non-stimulating space for children.

Eder School

Eder Schoolhouse Open House

Saturday, September 13 | 12 to 3 PM | Eder Schoolhouse, 4442 Hadley Avenue N

Join members of the Maplewood Area Historical Society for an open house at the Eder Schoolhouse. Come check out this Oakdale landmark and learn about the history of this unique one-room schoolhouse that was built in 1868.

Farmer Market Root Vegetables

Farmers Market

Wednesdays, now to October 8 | 2 to 6 PM | Oakdale City Hall Parking Lot

Shop fresh and local at the Oakdale Farmers Market for an array of fresh produce, sweets, meats and more from local vendors on Wednesdays throughout the summer. Food trucks also attend regularly.

Library Story Time

Select Wednesdays | 10:30 AM | Discovery Center

We’ll have fun talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing together with a Washington County Youth Librarian. We will focus on concepts such as counting, colors, sharing, emotions, patterns, and the alphabet. A simple craft will follow.

• August 27 - Vehicles

• September 24 - Bedtime

A free program recommended for developmental ages 0 to 5 and their grown-ups.

ACTIVITIES FOR ADULTS

Zumba in the Park

Tuesdays, September 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30 | 6:30 to 7:30 PM | Eder Schoolhouse Lawn

“Zumba with Sadie” is a dynamic, full-body dance workout designed for people of all fitness levels to get out and move their bodies. Dance to music from around the globe including Latin, Caribbean, SoCa, African, Salsa, Bollywood, Calypso, Hip Hop and Pop! Sadie is a licensed group fitness instructor and can sign off on participation for employer heath incentive and wellness programs. 5 week session is $55 per person. Rainout sessions will be made up the next day on Wednesdays.  Registration deadline one week prior to session start.

The Art of Keeping Chickens in Frigid Climates 

Saturday, September 13 | 11 AM to 12:30 PM | Discovery Center

Learn about keeping chickens during cold, Minnesota winters. Bird expert Les Larson will discuss the pros and cons of keeping chickens, coop design, costs, ordinance compliance, working with neighbors and where to get chickens. Learn tips, tricks and techniques, and get your questions answered. Call 651-747-3860 to reserve your spot.

MORNING YOGA | TUESDAYS | 9:30 to 10:30 AM 

Rise and shine with intention. Experience a customizable and dynamic yoga practice designed to build strength, develop balance, and increase mobility and mindfulness. This all-levels class encourages participants to move at their own pace to explore shapes in a safe and sustainable way that will support a healthy range of motion and a more fulfilling practice experience.  

•    Session 1 | 6 weeks | $104 | September 16, 23, October 7, 14, 21, 28 (no class 9/30)           

TWILIGHT YOGA | THURSDAYS | 6 to 7 PM

Wind down your day in the glow of twinkling lights.  Explore a gentler flow designed to melt away tension with mindful movements to increase strength, balance, flexibility and relaxation in a sustainable way. This all-levels class will illuminate your intentions and calm your nervous system with minimal weight-bearing on the wrists to prepare you for a good night sleep.

•    Session 1 | 6 weeks | $104 | October 30, November 6, 13, 20, December 4, 11 (no class 11/27)    


Registration deadline is one week prior to start of session. Drop in for a single class is $20 (if space is available).

Oakdale Wellness 50+ logo

Oakdale Wellness 50+

Oakdale Wellness 50+ is a volunteer initiative making Oakdale and Washington County healthier by offering health-focused activities for persons 50 and over that lead to measurably improved wellness. 

Oakdale Wellness 50+ is supported by Washington County, the City of Oakdale, and the Vital Aging Network (VAN).

WALKS AT THE OAKDALE NATURE PRESERVE | Wednesdays at 9 AM | No registration is necessary to join these weekly walks. Meet in front of the Discovery Center.

PLAY MAHJONGG | Mondays at 1 PM (no Mahjongg 9/1) | Join us to play Mahjongg. No sign up needed.

SAFETY, CRIME AND FIRE PREVENTION | Saturday, September 27 | 12 to 2 PM | Oakdale Fire and Police will present information and demonstrations on safety from intruders and emergency assistance including use of Narcan. Register online or by calling 651-747-3860.

•    Saturday, August 30 for a private event

•    Monday, September 1 in observance of Labor Day
