Snowshoe in the Oakdale Nature Preserve

Full Moon Lunar Eclipse Snowshoe
Sunday, January 20 | 8:30 – 11 PM | Discovery Center

Gather to watch the total lunar eclipse blood moon. Enjoy snowshoeing, a roaring bonfire, hot chocolate and s’mores, and light appetizers indoors. $29. Register by January 14.

Family Snowshoe with Ice Luminaries
Saturday, January 26 | 6 – 7:30 PM | Discovery Center

Enjoy trails at night under the moon and stars. Follow a trail lit with ice luminaries through the woods. Enjoy hot chocolate and a bonfire with s’mores. $15. Register by January 18.

Oakdale Nature Preserve Snowshoe Rental

Snow Sculpture Contest

Submit your snow sculpture now through March 29 | Oakdale Residents (Any address in Oakdale, MN 55128)

Winner receives a $100 Marcus Theaters Gift Card! Calling all creative Oakdale residents. Do you have what it takes to create the best snow sculpture in town? If so, head outside any time after a snowfall, and start constructing your masterpiece. All sculptures are judged on appearance, relative to the season’s theme. This year’s theme is “Superhero Snow Sculpture.”

Dog Sled Day

Saturday, February 9 | 11 AM | Discovery Center

The Samoyed - not just another pretty face. The Samoyed is a working dog, bred for sledding and herding reindeer! We will welcome the Samoyed Association of Minneapolis - St. Paul for a dog sled day. This will be an informational program, with a meet and greet with the dogs, and with time permitting, dog sled riding! Free.

Fall Storytime for Preschoolers: Snow

Wednesday, January 16 | 10:30 AM | Discovery Center

Join Katelyn from the Oakdale Library for a special preschool story time! We will have fun talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing together. We will focus on concepts such as counting, colors, sharing, emotions, patterns, and the alphabet. A simple craft will follow. A free program recommended for developmental ages 0 to 5 and their grown-ups. Free. Please call 651-747-3860 to reserve your spot!

Indoor Market

Saturdays, January 5 & 19 | 9 AM – 1 PM | Discovery Center

Over 20 local vendors offering a unique variety of items including baked goods, jams, cheeses, meats, canned goods, sweets, salsas, strudels, jewelry, micro greens, and much more! Check out the Community Booths to see what is happening locally, and enter your name for a chance to win the Vendors Variety Gift Basket. This is the vendors' way of saying thank you for supporting the community and local businesses.

Snowshoe, Sip and Sample (Ages 21+)

Friday, February 15 | 7 – 10 PM | Discovery Center

Enjoy snowshoeing, a bonfire, Hy-Vee appetizers and food demonstration, local beer samples, wine sampling by Bright Wines, a vintage game room, and prize drawings during this Valentine’s weekend event. $34. Register by February 1.

ViniYoga

Discovery Center

ViniYoga is a therapeutic style of yoga which adapts to the needs of each student. Classes will include a blend of gentle yoga postures, breathing, and simple meditations to help the body build strength and flexibility while remaining steady and comfortable. Beginners are welcome as are those who have practiced yoga before and all students are encouraged to move at their own pace. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat. Drop into any yoga class for $12.
