Library Story Time "Animals"Wednesday, May 31 | 10:30 AM | Discovery Center A Washington County Youth Librarian will be visiting for a series of special preschool story times! We’ll have fun talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing together. We will focus on concepts such as counting, colors, sharing, emotions, patterns, and the alphabet. A simple craft will follow. Horseback Riding at Bunker Park Stable (Ages 8 to 16)Thursday, June 15 | 10 AM to 2:30 PM | Depart and Return at Discovery Center Travel to Bunker Park Stable for a day of riding horses. The trip departs from the Discovery Center and includes horseback ride, barn tour, horse grooming and transportation. Participants must be at least eight years old and at least 52 inches tall, no exceptions. You must wear long pants and closed-toe shoes (no shorts or sandals). Bring a nut-free bagged lunch. KidCreate Studio: Mini Mania (Ages 5 to 12)Friday, June 16 | 9 AM to 3 PM | Discovery Center Teeny tiny is all the rage, so come create microscopic masterpieces! Participants will sculpt an itty bitty bowling set, magnificent mini cake and other tiny creations. It's mini mania! Please pack a drink and nut free lunch for your child. Community WalkNow through October 31 | During Park Hours | Oakdale Nature Preserve Earn rewards for walking! Residents of Oakdale will have the opportunity to explore and walk the 200 acre nature preserve and record their miles. Stop by the Discovery Center after every walk and Oakdale Recreation will record and track your miles throughout the season. The program is for Oakdale Residents only. ID will be required for proof of residency. Before your first walk, stop in the Discovery Center to register. Walkers write down their miles each day they visit, and turn in their mileage using either the indoor or outdoor drop boxes at the Discovery Center. Reach the ultimate goal of walking 150 miles total. MORE INFORMATION

Learn to Kayak: Silver Lake, North St. PaulTuesday, May 23 | 4:30 to 6 PM or 6 to 7:30 PM | Silver Lake Beach, 2601 19th Avenue East, North St Paul, MN 55109 Learn basic kayak skills such as paddling and getting in and out of the water. Yoga Taught by Jennifer Brandt, Registered Yoga Teacher and Certified Yoga Therapist at Body and Mind Yoga Therapy www.bodyandmindyogatherapy.com. Develop a strong and flexible spine, increase comfort and mobility in your joints, and build strength and balance in a safe way in this all-levels yoga class. Classes focus on each student's own internal experience rather than achieving an external appearance. Every class will include movement and guided breathing woven together. Most classes will have an element of meditation, chanting, and guided self-exploration.
