Leaves and Yard Waste
The City of Oakdale does not offer drop-off for leaves or yard waste. There are several options available in Washington County for yard waste disposal. The Washington County North Yard Waste Site located at the North Environmental Center (5527 6065 Headwaters Pkwy, Forest Lake) is free to Washington County residents. Accepted items include leaves, grass brush and tree waste.
Ramsey County provides free yard waste collection for Washington County residents at select sites. View the Ramsey County yard waste page for locations and hours.
Food Scraps Pickup Program
The Food Scraps Pickup Program is available to all Oakdale residents. This program, made possible through Ramsey and Washington Counties, allows participants to collect food scraps in free bags provided through the program and put them in trash carts or dumpsters for collection. Food makes up 20 percent of trash. Recycling food scraps helps turn them into soil rather than waste.
To learn more about the program and order your free annual supply of bags, visit FoodScrapsPickup.com or call 651-661-9393.
Free trial kits and a limited number of bins are available at Oakdale City Call. Contact Hannah Dunn for more information at hannah.dunn@oakdalemn.gov or 651-730-2723.
Organics Drop-off
Washington County offers free organics collection at either the Environmental Center or the Northern Yard Waste site. Get started by picking up a free collection kit. Learn more and get an organic starter kit.
Refrigerator Recycling
Xcel Energy residential customers with a functioning refrigerator can earn a rebate and have it picked up and recycled free of charge. Schedule a pick up at Xcel Energy.
Washington County Recycling Container Loan
Washington County residents are eligible to borrow recycling containers from the County. They can be used to collect bottles and cans at small, single-day gatherings such as graduation parties, family reunions, block parties, or similar events. The containers fold for easy transport and storage. Each bag holds up to 200 mixed bottles and cans (extra bags provided).
To learn more about the recycling container loan program and how to reserve a container, visit the Washington County website.
