The City of Oakdale is in the process of implementing body worn cameras (BWCs) as part of a growing expectation of law enforcement agencies in Minnesota. A committee of Oakdale police officers was created to research and test body worn camera options. Per state law, the City provided an opportunity for public comment and feedback. The Oakdale City Council approved use and purchase of body worn cameras with implementation and use expected to begin in early 2023.
As part of state requirements, cities must have a BWC policy.

The final policy will be posted once the body worn camera system has been implemented.
